Being a fair-trade coffee brand means that the farmer who produces the Honduran coffee beans for Sam & Evan’s Coffee receives a fair price for their harvest.  The Fair-Trade label also means that there are cooperatives that sell directly to buyers in the U.S.  Drinking only fair-trade coffee means that you won’t have to worry about farmers working for nothing just so that you can have your cup of coffee. Sam & Evan’s Coffee is from an exclusive Honduran farm run by the Velasquez family.  It’s drinking guilt-free coffee.

Giving Back
Sam & Evan’s Coffee is a story of two sons who were unable to pursue their dream of helping the underprivileged and orphaned children in Latin America.  In their honor, their fathers decided to make their sons dreams their own, giving birth to Sam & Evan’s brand of Honduran coffee. (More info on the story)  With each bag of coffee beans purchased, you are helping out several organizations in Latin America that assist and support children in impoverished situations.  All proceeds from Sam & Evan’s coffee production in Honduras go to helping kids in need.  From mobilizing mission trips for relief projects, to supporting orphans, each penny is being given to strengthen the resources of the underprivileged.

Quality Honduran Roasted Coffee
As stated earlier the Velasquez family produces 100% of the Sam & Evan’s Coffee brand.  This family has been perfecting their Honduran roasted coffee for over 50 years.  This 100 acre farm is relatively small, meaning that all of the beans are handpicked and sun dried.  Different from larger coffee farms, the quality control surrounding the beans is noticed in order to pick out the highest-quality beans for making the best cup of coffee.

Short-term mission trips are often carried out by church groups or religious organizations. These groups travel to different locations and volunteer to help with community projects both within the United States and internationally. The foundation of mission trips is service. Those who embark on mission trips volunteer their time and effort in order to improve the lives of others while sharing their faith.

Every mission trip differs slightly depending on where you going, but they share a common thread, service.

• Orphanages- When visiting an orphanage you can expect to build houses, renovate schools and orphanages, teach English, train teachers, hold medical clinics, give out water and food, as well as handing school supplies. And, most importantly, giving children hope for the future.

• Under-developed communities- The goals of these missions is to improve the quality of life for under-developed communities by offering physical, emotional, and mental support. You may provide safe drinking water, build homes, churches, and classrooms, hold classes, deliver food, and create gardens.

• Medical Missions- On these missions you can expect to conduct medical and wellness trainings, teach others about the principles of preventative health care, provide diagnosis and treatments, and build relationships with communities.

There are a variety of benefits for both those serving on mission trip and those receiving aid and support.
